Oktobookfest: What We’re Reading, October 2012
Matt Borondy, Publisher/Editor: When not putting my books into boxes to move them across Asheville, I’ll be reading Big Ray by Michael Kimball, Reaching Out with No Hands: Reconsidering Yoko Ono by Lisa Carver, and whatever Ron Rash and Don Winslow books I can get my hands on — just finished Winslow’s Kings of Cool. I should also mention my friend Mia Fontaine‘s new book, written with her mom Claire, entitled Have Mother, Will Travel (though not my genre of choice, some of you would totally dig it).

Anna-Lynne Williams, Music Editor: I’m about to start Parsifal by Jim Krusoe, my favorite writer, can’t wait!
Matthew Tiffany, Books Editor: How to Think More About Sex by Alain de Botton
Hilarie Ashton, Assistant Editor: I am on a Laurie Colwin kick, which makes me pretty deliriously happy; I just finished A Big Storm Knocked It Over. I’m also delving into lots of film criticism for a conference paper.
Jullianne Ballou, Assistant Editor: Everyone should go out and buy Granta’s latest issue (Medicine). So much of it is fantastic, but Chris Adrian’s essay alone is worth the $. (Oh, the Alice Munro in there, too. Very good…)
